1099 State Filing

State-level 1099 requirements handled automatically. Free state filing included with every SKOOR 1099 submission.

Which states require separate filing?

Most states participate in the IRS Combined Federal/State Filing (CF/SF) program, which means the IRS forwards your federal 1099 data to participating states automatically. However, some states require separate direct filing or have additional requirements. SKOOR tracks which states your vendors are in and handles the appropriate filing method for each.

States with separate requirements

States outside the CF/SF program require direct submission. The list changes periodically, but commonly includes states like Massachusetts, New Jersey, and others with independent reporting systems. SKOOR maintains an up-to-date list and files directly with these states when needed. You do not need to track which states require what.

State withholding reporting

Some states require reporting of state income tax withheld on 1099 forms. If you withhold state taxes from vendor payments, SKOOR captures this data and includes it on the appropriate state filing. The system validates that withholding amounts match payment records before submission.

Pricing

State filing is included free with every SKOOR 1099 submission. When you e-file a federal 1099, SKOOR automatically handles the corresponding state filing at no additional cost. This applies to both CF/SF program states and direct-filing states. See 1099 Filing for federal filing details and pricing.
