Automatic vendor classification

When you add a vendor, SKOOR classifies them as a corporation, LLC, sole proprietor, or partnership based on their W-9 data. Corporations are automatically excluded from 1099 reporting. Sole proprietors and partnerships that receive $600 or more in a calendar year are flagged for 1099 filing. The classification updates in real time as payments accumulate, so you always know which vendors will need a 1099 at year end.

W-9 collection

SKOOR tracks W-9 status for every vendor. Vendors without a W-9 on file are flagged in their profile and in the bill approval workflow. You can send W-9 requests through the vendor self-service portal with one click. The portal guides vendors through filling out the form electronically, and SKOOR validates TIN format before accepting. Backup withholding rules apply automatically to vendors who have not provided a valid W-9.

1099-NEC and 1099-MISC filing

At year end, SKOOR generates 1099-NEC forms for non-employee compensation and 1099-MISC for rents, royalties, and other qualifying payments. Review the generated forms in the dashboard, make any corrections, and submit. SKOOR e-files with the IRS and delivers copies to vendors electronically or by mail. Filing costs $0.65 per form. State filing is included at no extra charge for all states that require it.

Year-round visibility

You do not have to wait until January to know your 1099 exposure. The SKOOR dashboard shows a running total of 1099-eligible payments by vendor throughout the year. The AI agent alerts you when a vendor crosses the $600 threshold and when a W-9 is still missing for a vendor approaching that threshold. This prevents the year-end scramble and keeps your Business Health Score strong through consistent compliance.
