How an IoT Network Scored 10,000 Devices in Under an Hour
An IoT network operator deployed SKOOR Score for IoT to assess device trustworthiness across their entire network — uncovering 12 rogue devices and establishing a real-time trust dashboard.

The Challenge
The network operated 10,000 IoT devices across a metropolitan area — environmental sensors, traffic monitors, and infrastructure controllers. There was no systematic way to assess whether each device was behaving normally or had been compromised.
Previous approaches relied on manual spot-checks and basic uptime monitoring. Compromised devices could operate undetected for weeks, generating bad data and creating security vulnerabilities across the network.
The Solution
The operator used SKOOR batch scoring to assess all 10,000 devices in a single API call. Each device received a score based on 7 behavioral factors — transaction history, behavioral integrity, activity volume, compliance posture, account longevity, feedback reputation, and service diversity.
A network trust dashboard was built on top of the SKOOR API, displaying real-time device scores with tier classifications. Alert thresholds automatically flag devices that drop below the acceptable range, enabling immediate investigation.
The Results
10,000 devices scored in under an hour
Batch scoring processed the entire network. Each device received a full 10-factor score with tier classification and improvement recommendations.
12 rogue devices identified
Behavioral scoring detected 12 devices exhibiting anomalous patterns that uptime monitoring had missed. All were isolated and investigated within 24 hours.
Real-time network trust dashboard
The operations team now monitors device trust scores in real time. Score drops trigger automated alerts, enabling proactive device management instead of reactive incident response.
“We found 12 compromised devices that our existing monitoring had completely missed. SKOOR pays for itself with a single rogue device detection.”
